Home Warranty

As a service to our new homeowners Reid Built Homes offers a One Year Comprehensive Warranty which covers any and all problems in relation to the workmanship and materials used in the construction of your home. This warranty is valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of occupancy set by Reid Built Homes and excludes any damages inflicted on the home by the homeowner or occupants due to neglect or improper maintenance of our product. Reid Built Homes may at any time refuse to honor any part of our warranty where we feel just cause that the damages or repairs are a result of homeowner neglect. Should the home be sold the One Year Comprehensive Warranty is transferable to the new owner with the expiry date being one (1) year from the occupancy date of the original purchaser of the home. Should the home be rented, we ask that the service request from your tenants be screened very carefully. We suggest that should any service be required, completion and submission of these requests be done by the registered owner of the home, not the tenant.

Your new home is like a living thing for the first four seasons of occupancy and will move and settle during climate changes. This movement or shrinkage, be it ever so small, may cause the drywall to crack and nails used to attach the drywall to pull away from the framing material. As part of our comprehensive warranty, we offer a Twelve (12) Month Drywall Warranty. Once within your first year of occupancy we will have our drywall contractor repair any nail pops or drywall cracks which may occur on dry walled areas. Should this warranty work be necessary, we recommend that this item be noted on your year end service request. We will repair these areas and leave them "paint ready", however, we do not repaint or redecorate following these repairs. At the time of occupancy our painting contractor left "touch up" paint in your home which can be used to repair the paint finish on the drywall.
